Our History
Total OroCare Foundation was founded in 2019 by a group of doctors who recognized the need for an organization dedicated to Promote Preventive Dentistry, Create awareness on importance of Oral Health and Oral Cancer Prevention. Since then, we have grown into a thriving non-profit, serving our community.
Why Oral Care?
India has one of the highest prevalence of Oral Disorders in the World. In India, ignorance is a major cause of poor oral health. According to the National Oral Health Program, 95% of adults in India suffer from gum disease. 50% of the citizens do not use toothbrush or toothpaste. 70% of children under the age of 15 have dental caries. Health and wellness is increasingly becoming a focal point of the Indian economy. There’s a synergic relationship between oral health and overall wellness. Oral health is an indicator of overall health. Hence, it is very important to maintain oral hygiene. A healthy community is fundamental to the growth of the Nation.
Burden of Oral Cancer
Oral Cancer is another Silent Epidemic in India. It is the sixth most common type of cancer globally, and India contributes to almost one-third of the total burden. In fact, India has the highest number of Lip and oral cancer cases in the world. Early detection of oral cancer is crucial to its successful treatment.
